The portraits and inspirations of some of today's leading design professionals are captured on the pages of Lingo 3. The brochure speaks to an underlying theme of "connections that form the language of design... The language that forms the voice of a generation of designers with an ever expanding palette of medium at their fingertips. Whether it's ink on paper or music and video, the designers featured in Lingo 3, inspired by the most talented teaching professionals in the industry, are demonstrating that the medium is the message."
In the brochure, Amy and Miriam share their thoughts on "expression from inspiration" and "passion with responsibility." Amy says, "The most important thing I've learned [from graduate school] is to use graphic design in a more personal and expressive way. I had never drawn on my own experience as a basis for a project, but now I find that my most satisfying work has begun with a personal event or interest that develops into a complete visual experience." Miriam adds, "I find happiness through design work, especially since I have reached my goal of starting my own business...Never before have I learned more or have been more passionate about design."
Mead Papers, headquartered in Dayton, Ohio,is the Official Education Sponsor of the AIGA. Lingo 3 was developed by Weymouth Design, Boston, MA and features photography by Michael Weymouth. Samples of the brochure can be ordered at www.meadpapers.com
